Graco Stroller Recall

What is this announcement?
As parents ourselves, safety is always our top priority at Graco. In January 2008 a voluntary, US-specific standard was issued increasing the height of the opening between the stroller’s tray and the seat bottom.  This standard was issued in response to a finding that, when left unharnessed in the stroller, infants can slide down and become entrapped between the stroller seat and tray.
Graco is issuing a voluntary recall for older models of Graco Quattro Tour™ and MetroLite™ strollers and travel systems that were manufactured prior to the introduction of this tray height standard.

If you think you might have one of these strollers:
  1. Check to see if you have an affected stroller and order a repair kit by using this online form or calling Graco toll free at (877) 828-4046 (available 24 hrs, 7 days a week)
  2. Stop using your stroller until your repair kit has arrived; however, it is safe to continue to use these strollers as a travel system (with an infant car seat attached).
For your child’s safety, when using a stroller, parents and caregivers are encouraged to ALWAYS secure children by using the safety harness and never leaving them unattended. Check your stroller’s instruction manual for more information on how to ensure safe stroller use.

Which strollers are involved in this announcement? This recall affects the Quattro Tour™ strollers and travel systems manufactured prior to November 2006, and MetroLite™ strollers and travel systems manufactured prior to July 2007.  No other Graco strollers are affected by this notice. You can check to see if your model is affected here.

What do I need to do if I think I have one of these products?
Although this is deemed a recall in the U.S., there is no need to return your product. Instead, repair kits will be made available, free of charge, for consumers with affected stroller models globally upon request.

To order a repair kit in the U.S., click here or call Graco toll-free at (877) 828-4046 anytime. If you live outside of the U.S., please visit our international contact page to find local contact information.

Are products sold outside of the United States affected by this action? We are offering repair kits to all consumers with affected strollers worldwide; however, there have been no reported incidences of injuries from these strollers outside of the U.S. For international contact information and to order a repair kit if you think your stroller might be affected, click here.
This stroller has been sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Europe and Asia.

What is the safety concern?Entrapment and strangulation can occur, especially to infants under 12 months of age, when a child is not harnessed. An infant can pass through the opening between the stroller tray and seat bottom, but his/her head and neck can become entrapped by the tray.
